Architecture Venice
Venice embodies the harmonious mixture of different styles, which characterize different eras. The picturesque town is not at the expense of nature and greenery, which will not find here in abundance, and thanks to the kaleidoscope of streets and canals, sumptuous palaces and Gothic churches, which, merging together, create a magical, colorful look of the city on the water. On the Venetian architecture was significantly influenced by four styles – Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance. It worked the architect Longhena, Palladio, Codussi, Sansovino, the painters Titian, Giorgione, Guardi, Tintoretto, Canaletto, Tiepolo and many others.
In 14-16 centuries laid the architectural appearance of Venice, which absorbed the traditions of the Byzantine, Arab and Gothic motifs. The city centre is simply filled with architectural masterpieces. Who built the pyramids for the Egyptians?
Could the ancient Egyptians to erect their own giant pyramids and palaces? People who only read about these structures in the history books, I guess: Yes. But many of those who have been in this country, and wander, for example, along the valley of Giza, no doubt. Too impressive these structures, even on their construction, as expected, worked tens of thousands of slaves.
Version Of The Conan Doyle
The theory that the pyramids are material traces of a more ancient technologically advanced civilization that does not put forward today. For example, in 1929 “father of Sherlock Holmes” by Arthur Conan Doyle published the fiction novel “Markatov the abyss” whose characters are in a city – island, thousands of years ago sank to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. When one examines the underwater structure, it is observed that: “Columns, platforms and staircases of this building exceeded anything I have ever seen on earth. Most of all, the building looked like the remains of the temple of Karnak in Luxor, in Egypt, and, strange to say, ornaments and half-erased inscriptions in the details resembled the same decoration and inscriptions of the great ruins near the Nile”. Gothic cathedrals
Gothic, Gothic style arose and dominated the Western artistic culture immediately after romance. Gothic art originated in France around 1140 years and spread throughout Europe in the next century. The term “Gothic” applied to the late, high or classical ages. Gothic style served primarily the Church. The Gothic period is considered to be one of the greatest in the history of European art and culture.
Gothic style is most clearly represented in the architecture.
A characteristic feature of the Gothic style steel ribbed vaults. The medieval churches of the Romanesque style had a powerful stone arches, which were very heavy. They sought to shore, to push the walls outward, which could bring down the building. To keep such arches, the walls of the Romanesque buildings had to be thick and heavy. At the beginning of the 12th century, masons developed the ribbed vaults: slender stone arches, placed diagonally, transversely and longitudinally.
